Ruthless & Toothless While occasionally bogged down by a handful of filler tracks, Birth A.D. have still managed to craft a lean, mean slab of respectable crossover free from the trappings of modern day ‘pizza thrash’. Packed with everything from scathing critiques of modern society and the backstabbing/two-faced nature of music scenes to the futility of working and remaining in dead-end relationships, ‘I Blame You’ may not be on the level of the classics, but it deserves your attention all the same. Owen I love thrash and crossover just scratches an itch that I have once in a while when I want an album that's absurdly fast with absurdly short songs and tongue-in-cheek lyrics. This is such an album.

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max.
